THE SCHOOL OF MANAGEMENT AT UNION GRADUATE COLLEGE invites applications for a full-time tenure-track faculty position in ACCOUNTANCY. The position may be filled at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor level; a Ph.D. is preferred, but ABDs would also be considered. Salary and benefits are competitive and will be commensurate with the candidate’s teaching, research, and service experience. The School of Management at Union Graduate College is a graduate-only program and the candidate would be expected to be able to teach the basic graduate-level accounting courses and it would be preferred that they could also teach in at least two of the following three areas: advanced financial accounting; advanced managerial accounting, and advanced auditing—these courses would be taught to students who have had the appropriate undergraduate courses in accounting. In addition to the course and research responsibilities, one of the areas of service that the accounting faculty person would be expected to fulfill is to be the contact and liaison person to develop and maintain relationships with local and regional accounting firms.

The School of Management has an excellent faculty and is accredited by AACSB and CAMHE. Both research and teaching are highly valued and given equal weight in performance appraisal of faculty. The college is in a new building with excellent facilities, small classes (25 or fewer), and a warm, collegial atmosphere.

Union Graduate College is in Schenectady, New York and is in the Capital Region of New York and within easy driving (or train) distance from New York City, Boston, Montreal, and Buffalo. It is also just south of the resort town of Saratoga Springs, and very near the beautiful Adirondack State Park and the Lake George Region. There is excellent hiking, skiing, boating, camping, and other recreational opportunities very nearby. Union Graduate College is part of Union University which also includes Union College, Albany Medical College, Albany Law School, Dudley Observatory, and Albany School of Pharmacy.

Faculty Position in Healthcare Management & Pharmacy Administration

The Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences (ACPHS) and the School of Management at Union Graduate College (UGC) invite nominations and applications for a joint faculty position beginning in August 2012.

Union Graduate College and Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences are two colleges of Union University - a five school consortium located in the Capital Region of New York State. Well known for its members’ interdisciplinary joint degree programs, the successful PharmD/MBA in Healthcare Management Joint Degree Program dates back several decades. This joint degree program holds the highest accreditations in each discipline. Furthermore, the Healthcare MBA at UGC is one of only 28 programs in the US dually accredited by AACSB and CAHME.

The successful candidate is expected to teach, engage in scholarly activities, and be an active member of the faculties. Teaching duties will be divided between courses in UGC’s MBA in Healthcare Management Program and those in the Department of Health Care Management and Informatics at ACPHS. Courses to be taught may include those in the general areas within Pharmacy and Healthcare Administration including TQM or Healthcare Informatics, Health Systems, Healthcare Management or Healthcare Marketing.

Candidates for this position must hold a doctorate in a discipline related to the teaching needs. Preference will be given to candidates with teaching and managerial experience. Managerial experience in healthcare or pharmaceutical industries, or community/health systems pharmacy, is preferred. Tenure-track may be an option and rank is open and dependent upon qualifications. Salary and benefits (which include undergraduate tuition assistance for dependent children) are competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience.
